How we handle your information

Bear Homes builds custom homes in Boise and across the Treasure Valley, Idaho. We respect your privacy and we keep this simple: we collect only what we need to answer your enquiry and to understand how people use our website. We do not sell your information.

Information you give us

You can browse this entire website without telling us anything about yourself. You only share information when you choose to contact us.

• Our contact form asks for your first name, last name, email address, phone number, the community or plan you are interested in, and your message.
• Our trade partner form asks for your first name, last name, company name, trade, email address, phone number, and your message.
• Our chat window collects whatever you type into it, along with contact details you choose to provide.
• If you call or email us directly, we keep a record of that conversation so we can follow up.

We use this information to respond to you, to answer questions about building a home, and to keep in touch about your enquiry. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we will.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this one collects some technical information automatically when you visit. That includes your approximate location (typically your city), the type of device and browser you are using, the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, and how long you stay. This is collected in aggregate and is used to understand which pages are useful and where people get stuck.

Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and reliability purposes.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses them for two purposes: to make the site work correctly, and to measure how the site is performing. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them will not stop you from using this website, though some conveniences (like us remembering that you dismissed a banner) will stop working.

The services we use

We rely on a small number of established third-party services. Each one receives some information about your visit, and each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with that information.

• HubSpot stores our form submissions and chat conversations, and runs our customer relationship management system. It also sets cookies that let us see how visitors move through the site.
• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager tell us how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they found us.
• Google Ads measures whether an advertisement led to an enquiry, when we are running advertising.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram) measures whether our social posts and advertising lead people to the site.
• Matterport powers the 3D home tours embedded on some pages. Its player loads when you open a tour.
• YouTubehosts one of the videos on our press page. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, which does not track you unless you play the video.
• Outhouse provides the interactive floor plan viewers on our plan pages.
• Netlify hosts this website and serves its pages.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it. We share it only in these situations:

• With the service providers listed above, so they can perform their function for us.
• With our team and the trades we work with, when it is needed to answer your enquiry or build your home.
• When the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights or property of Bear Homes or others.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records in our customer relationship management system for as long as we have a business reason to, so that we can pick up a conversation where it left off. If you would like your information removed, contact us and we will delete it, unless we are required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.

Your choices

• Ask what we hold. Contact us and we will tell you what information we have about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it. Contact us and we will take care of it.
• Stop marketing emails. Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply and ask.
• Control cookies. Use your browser settings to block or clear them.
• Turn off ad tracking. Google and Meta both provide their own advertising controls in your account settings on those platforms.
• Do Not Track. Browsers vary in how they send this signal and there is no agreed standard for responding to it, so this site does not respond to Do Not Track signals.

Children

This website is intended for adults looking to build or buy a home. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

This site is served over an encrypted connection, and form submissions are transmitted securely to our customer relationship management system. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we take reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Some pages link to websites we do not operate, such as our social media profiles and partner sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear.
